Austin Security and Investigation Solutions is committed to providing high quality personnel to our clients. Physical Fitness and Firearms proficiency assessments help ensure the safety of our clients as well as the safety of our Officers. We take this responsibility seriously and therefore have instituted standards above those required by DPS/Private Security Board. Commissioned Security Officers and Personal Protection Officers must demonstrate physical fitness proficiency and firearms proficiency as a condition of employment and annually thereafter.
Officers must demonstrate physical fitness as a condition of employment and annually by completing the following within a time frame of 10 minutes and 30 seconds (10:30).
Males: 3 pull ups, 20 push ups, 30 sit ups, 500m row, 20 wall ball squats with 12-pound medicine ball (ball must reach 9ft high mark), push/pull weighted sled 25 yds each (25 yd push/25 yd pull)
Females: 30 second flex arm hang, 10 push ups, 30 sit ups, 500m row, 20 wall ball squats with 8-pound medicine ball, push/pull weighted sled 25 yds each (25 yd push/25 yd pull)
Officers must demonstrate firearms proficiency as a condition of employment and continue to demonstrate so annually through firearms qualification. We will provide firearms proficiency requirements to interested candidates via email. Candidates for employment should be prepared to demonstrate various shooting related skills including but not limited to:
a) timed draw from duty holster and accurate first round hit
b) shooting from cover/barricade
c) shooting from position(s) other than standing
d) successfully demonstrating target discrimination (shoot/no shoot targets)
e) proper safe handling of firearm
f) proper firearm manipulation including the ability to reload the firearm in a timely manner and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to safely and correctly clear a firearm malfunction.
Commissioned Security Officers and Personal Protection Officer must complete a 6 hour re-certification course every two years. All security officers new to the Company will complete on-the-job training and evaluation regardless of their past experience level.
Private investigators must complete 18 hours of continuing education every two years. All Private Investigators newly hired by the Company must complete a ride-along and evaluation process with one of our senior Private Investigators. All Private Investigators new to the Company will complete this ride-along/evaluation regardless of their past experience level.
